Venture 34 Open. New power. Recent upgrades. Serious fishing platform with amenities the Admiral and youngsters will appreciate. Owner purchased boat with 20 hours in Jan 2006 and in May 2016 installed new power, replaced/ upgraded/ repaired/ spruced up most everything with intentions of enjoying the next 10 years. Life changes, Downside Risk is seriously for sale.
This is the boat that established the Venture brand (and one of the first big center consoles to hit the market), the 34 Open is a limited production fishing machine notable for her sleek lines and exceptional open-water performance.
This is a top-tier boat offered with a long list of standard equipment and a near custom level of fit and finish. The hullsides, deck and hatches are all cored with Divinycell for strength and weight reduction, and the hull bottom is reinforced with Kevlar. The transom is cored with a ceramic matrix that offers superior compression strength. The bow has a large raised casting deck containing two huge in- deck fish boxes that drain overboard. Standard features include a huge 55-gallon oval livewell (transom), bait prep center with fresh and salt water washdowns, transom rigging station, forward console seat with cooler under, anchor locker, recessed bow rails, and a transom door and gate. The Venture’s walk-in console includes a standup head with shower and sink. A fast ride and comfortable ride, WOT with the new 350 Verado's, one time owner ran to 63mph, but never really runs the boat fast, so really don't know WOT.
New power and upgrades in May, 2016.

With the three cushions in place this creates a space large enough for sunbathing for a group of kids or adults. Forward the anchor locker, stainless pop up cleats and stainless pop up bow light.

The helm instruments are protected by locking dark plexiglass vertical slider and is cleanly laid out. The backside of the helm is a large storage area with top section Plano style tackle boxes and two locking pull out starboard drawers. Everything is right at hand for rigging.
Directly aft of helm is an indeck huge fish box. ("It holds exactly 38 cases of beer".. just a note of interest). True to a top tier boat, all the hardware appears of excellent quality, fit and finish.
Recent Upgrades, Broker CommentsFollowing a decade of ownership and many summers with his family and this boat in the Bahamas, last spring was update time.
In May, 2016, a new pair of matched, white, Mercury Verado 350's installed. These have transferable 5 year warranty. Currently just last summers light use, about 130 hours.
Most of the interior lighting was replaced with LED. The cockpit lighting is halogen.
In May, 2016 the new (EVO3) Simrad was installed. While these units have numerous features, currently only being used for GPS and sounder. This unit is compatible with HALO radar should new owner chose to replace the existing Furuno.
New parts (which may not be needed) were ordered for the Lee outriggers. They are in a box at owners home.
During my walk-thru I noted 4 items that require attention. The LED light in the helm is missing lens and bezel (owner has). The head, toilet, is missing the top lid section - owner still unable to locate. There is evidence of beaching, gel coat damage, on the keel that appears cosmetic, but should be repaired. Lastly, the boat, while very clean, should be professionally detailed. Setting these minor items aside, the boat is in very good condition. The layout and use of space, for someone who fishes offshore, is excellent. The fit and finish, use of highest quality parts and general build of this boat is similar to top tier boats that today cost in excess of $300K. For someone looking for an top tier affordable 34' center console designed to fish, with an excellent ride, fast when needed and with amenities that the family will enjoy, Downside Risk is worthy of serious consideration. Offered at under $180K. Rack stored at BluePoints Marina in Port Canaveral. Available for immediate consideration.
Owner does still occasionally use, so hours may increase.
