One owner very well cared for 268CCOne owner boat, stored inside since purchased in 2007. Photos don't show how well cared for this boat is. Photos don't show (for example) the transom seat or forward seating cushions..why? They have been used only a handful of times, are in excellent condition and they are kept wrapped in plastic in the owners’ garage.
Yamaha 250's with just under 1,000 hours - most recent service in August. Same mechanic since 2008, all records. This really is one of those boats where owner has replaced all items with original Edgewater parts and exceeded the recommended Yamaha maintenance requirements. Yes, these are the Yamaha 250's with a great well earned reputation.
Cushions and combing pads are clean, no sunburn dirt or wear. Gel coat interior shows no chips or wear. Under console head 'smelled' fresh and clean. One small scratched area (hull, starboard, see photo). Never bottom painted. The only thing 'wrong' is a couple spots of powder coating bubbles or chipped, which may be touched up with the appropriate powder coat spray touch up paint.
Recent updates include 4 new JL speakers (mounted in hardtop), new Fusion radio with Bluetooth and SirusXM, new Standard Horizon radio with AIS/GPS (original Ray marine still works and included). New transducer. 3 newer batteries installed in 2017.
Grandslam Taco outriggers, 10K open array radar, Cobia tower (removable not shown in photos). While boat has been rack stored, owner does have a trailer that came with boat in 2007, probably needs new bunks and basic service.
Most are aware how well Edgewater’s were designed and built. When researching this boat I found a good description of what the company refers to it as SPI (Single Piece Infusion):
"After spraying the gelcoat layer, Edgewater lays in all the dry ingredients, such as specially engineered fiberglass, Divinycell coring and the like, including the stringers. Then it encases the mold in a plastic bag with a strong vacuum pump attached at one end and the vinylester resin supply on the other. Turn on the vacuum and the pump sucks the resin throughout the laminate. The bag, combined with the vacuum pressure, prevents excess resin buildup and any air bubbles or voids. The resultant hull has an optimum glass-to-resin ratio.
The transom and stringer grid are made from composite and glass, so you'll find no wood in the Edgewater. Additionally, Edgewater bonds the stringers into the hull right from the start rather than gluing them in after the hull is finished. Eliminating excess resin means a lighter boat without sacrificing strength, and of course lighter means better performance, too."
If you have been looking for a late 2000's Edgewater, you just found your boat! If you have been looking for a quality 25-27ft fishing machine in excellent shape for under $80K.. you have just found your boat. Give me a call to schedule viewing and seatrial. You will not be disappointed.
Quick walk thruSS plow anchor on pulpit at bow. Anchor locker to port.
Forward seating with storage. Small padded removable seat in front of console. Console door opens on port side, strong magnet holds it open. Molded shelves in door. Head, freshwater sink, drawers for storage. Large hatches open for excellent access to batteries, wiring behind helm. The wider beam and slightly thin console create an open walk space forward or aft.
Hard top with brackets for Cobia tower. 10K open array radar. GPS antenna. VHF antenna. Taco GrandSlam outriggers. New JL speakers mounted at corners of hardtop. LED lighting. Rod holders. Below the hardtop the helm area provides 360 visibility with a large clear front glass windshield. Clean helm with C120 Raymarine. Digital Yamaha gauges. Trim Tab. Compass. SS wheel. Switch panel is labeled and useful. VHF radio above. Safety gear stored under hardtop. Helm seat and leaning post show very little wear. Rocket launcher. Cutting board. Fridgid Ridged chest under leaning post.
Cockpit fishing area: salt water wash down to starboard. Under gunnel rod holders. Two good size in deck fish boxes. 4 trolling rod holders in gunnels (2 per side). Starboard transom freshwater sink, below store a few plano tackle trays. Port side live bait well. Across transom large hatches open for easy access to pumps, fuel water separators. (Removable bench seat goes here) Full combing pads in very good condition. SS rod holders on transom and storage of Armstrong 3 step boarding ladder.
Edgewater design and layout are pretty much similar to every good offshore fishing boat with enough niceties to take the family to the sandbar. Fit and finish as expected in a higher tier production boat. For a 2007 this boat shows a 9 out of 10.
